The tent

What is the Urban Badger roof top tent?

A hardshell tent that sits on your vehicle's roof rack. The fibreglass shell covers the tent while you drive, and high-pressure piston rods lift it open when you stop.

The tent measures 200 × 135 cm. Its walls are blackout fabric, it is insulated with high-density polyurethane and it comes with its own mattress.

In our photos it sits on a pickup together with the telescopic ladder and the Poseidon solar shower. The three work well together on one vehicle.

Fibreglass shell
Thick fibreglass in an aerodynamic shape. It stands up to knocks and strong wind and copes with heat and sun.
Blackout fabric
The tent walls keep daylight out, and sturdy zips close the openings.
Mattress
The tent comes with its own mattress, so your bed is ready as soon as the shell is up.

The tank mounts on the roof rack next to the tent. The sun warms the water while you set up camp.

Opening and closing

How does the roof top tent open and close?

High-pressure piston rods lift the shell to open the tent. Hydraulic cylinders make it easy to bring the shell back down.

On the road
Closed, the tent packs away under the fibreglass shell and stays there for the drive.
At camp
The piston rods lift the shell and the tent opens with it, mattress inside.
Insulation
High-density polyurethane insulation helps keep the inside comfortable on cool nights and warm ones.
